The 5th chakra, the viśuddha-cakra, is assigned the ability of distinguishing. The question arises: when is an action free of body and when is it not?

If a person forms ideal goals and puts them into practice, this leads in the direction of initial physical freedom. However, if they follow their own bodily feelings too closely, such as emotions or displeasure, their consciousness remains completely connected to the body.

When practitioners train themselves in distinguishing, they become better and better at distinguishing between lies and truth in life. The development of feelings of truth is an essential characteristic of the anāhata-cakra, the 4th center at the level of the heart.
